Taxi Truck Consignment
In Transvirtual it is possible to create Taxi Truck type consignments which are essentially multi-leg consignments. This article will detail how to create taxi truck type consignments and how to load and deliver them on a mobile device.
1. To create Taxi Truck Consignment, youMUST enable the Taxi Truck Creation toggle as shown below.
To navigate the Taxi Truck Creation toggle, go to Configuration > General > Global Setup, click on Consignment related rules.
Taxi Truck Consignment Creation
1. Once you enable the taxi truck creation toggle, your consignment creation page will look like as below.
As you can see in the above, there is now an option to add a Taxi Stop, which is essentially the number stop of each receiver you add (the leg number, etc).
2. Now, specify the number of receivers stops (legs) for this consignment with the help of arrow button.
3. In the receiver information section, fill the detail i.e., Sender Information, Receiver Information, Other Information and Consignment Items as shown below.
The Taxi truck consignment process differs slightly when entering receiver information. Enter the correct number of stops using the Arrow selectors as indicated and then input the relevant receiver information for each stop.
4. Once all the required details are entered, click on the Save button to create the consignment, or press the enter button on your keyboard. Once created, the consignment page will display as shown below.
Fill all the details in a similar way as describe in consignment creation paragraph.
Stop 1 will be the line at the top and each subsequent stop will be listed in descending order.
5. In the above image, this example consignment has been created as a pickup type, with stop or leg information included as a note in the special instructions. The reason for this is because the Taxi Truck type consignments involve a customer requesting to driver to pick up the relevant freight and then deliver the respective item(s) to each of the receiver locations listed.
6. Once the consignment has been created, the items on the consignment need to be 'assigned' to each leg/receiver/stop. To do this, first click on Edit Mode checkbox and then, click on the first receiver as shown below.
7. After clicking a stop/receiver is clicked, the consignment items change to "0". This is because you need to specify how many items and what items are to be delivered to the selected stop. To do this click on the Edit icon button update the consignment items and then click on Save button to 'assign' those items to that stop.
Repeat the process for each stop you have.
9. Once all stops are updated with the relevant items, then click on each stop will show you what items are allocated to each location as shown below.
As you can see in the below image, on first stop (Dell 03) having 2 Pallet and 5 Skid and on second stop (Adam) is having 3 pallet and 5 Skid.
10. If needed, you can add in extra stops. To do so, on consignment detail page, click on Taxi Truck Jobs tab, the taxi truck stops/jobs page will open, here click on Add Stop button to add other stop(s).
11. On taxi truck stops/jobs page, if needed then you can delete or remove a stop, by clicking on the delete icon against each stop. To do so, simply click on Delete icon, a confirmation pop-up will display, click Yes todelete the selected stop/jobs from the consignment.
12. If you want to update the stop details, then click on the applicable stop, the detail of selected stop will appear on the right side of the screen.
13. Now, update the detail as per your need and then click on Update button to save the changes.
14. If you want to view this stop as its own consignment, then on stop/job detail screen, click on the View Consignment button. You will then see a screen similar as shown below.
14. This page will display similar to standard consignment, but there will be a message in yellow at the top stating that this is a child Taxi Truck job and will provide a hyperlink to be able to view the original 'parent' taxi type consignment. You will notice that when you do this, this consignment will only be for the stop you clicked as each job is technically its own consignment, but for this process the consignments are 'linked' together in a taxi truck arrangement.
15. Once you complete the initial process, the taxi truck consignment is now ready for the delivery via mobile app. To know more how to deliver it, click here.
16. Once delivery process is completed, and you want to see the POD for each leg of the original taxi truck consignment, you can access it as each leg is considered a separate consignment. To do this, go to consignment detail page, and then click on POD & Files section shown below.
17. Once all the legs have been delivered, the Taxi Truck consignment is now considered complete.
Extra Information
1. Taxi truck type consignments DO NOT support EDI functionality. Additionally, they WILL NOT work between linked Transvirtual accounts. You can't assign a consignment to a linked account as the data transfer will not work as expected (for internal use in your own Transvirtual account only). 2. You cannot use the consignment copy function to re-create Taxi Truck type consignments.
3. The copy function will create a new consignment but WILL NOT include the legs as they appear in the original Taxi Truck consignment. To ensure accuracy, create each new Taxi Truck consignment from the consignment creation page.
If when printing the labels for a taxi truck type consignment they appear blank, this likely means that you have not entered the receiver leg information such as number of items and weights, etc.
