Equipment Types

OVERVIEW

In Transvirtual, you are able to set up equipment types to track against customers, agents and drivers. Examples being pallets, containers, cages, etc.


STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

To Create/Add New Equipment Types

1. To create a new equipment type, go to Configuration > Lists and Zones > Equipment Type. The equipment type list page will open as shown below.


2. Now, click on the New Equipment Type button. Create new Equipment Item pop-up will display.

                                                                                    

3. Manually enter the Equipment Name and then click on the Create button as shown above. The new equipment item will be added to the equipment type list.

                                     

4. Click on the new equipment type; the equipment detail will be displayed on the right side of the screen.
                                                            

5. Manually update/add the applicable detail, whichever is necessary, i.e., Equipment Name, Short Name and AKA.
6. The short name is useful when displayed in the app where there is limited space. 
7. Once you complete step 5, click on the update button to save the changes.
8. On the equipment detail page, scroll down the page you will see the data filter, which helps you to filter and differentiate the different equipment types to apply correctly.
9. To do the data filter, first select the field, logic and value, then click on the add rule button to save the changes.

  1. Where it says AKA - This is very useful if you want the ability to charge per equipment type on consignments. Required AKA names are EquipmentType1Count, EquipmentType2Count and so on for each of the different equipment types. 
  2. In the data Filter, you may want to tailor this to ask drivers for equipment counts; so, in the above, when the freight item is a skid, the driver will be asked how many skids there are. 

To Delete an Equipment Type
1. If you want to delete the Equipment item, simply click on the delete icon, a confirm dialog will pop-up, click on Yes button, the equipment item will be deleted from the database as shown below.
