In TransVirtual you are able to setup equipment types to track against customers, agents and drivers. Examples being pallets, containers, cages, etc.
To Create/Add New Equipment Types
1. To create a new equipment type, go to Configuration > Lists and Zones > Equipment Type, the equipment type list page will open as shown below.
2. Now, click on New Equipment Type button, Create new Equipment Item popup will display as shown below.
3. Manually enter the Equipment Name and then click on Create button as shown above, the new equipment item will add in the equipment type list as shown below.
4. Now, click on the new equipment type, the equipment detail will be display on the right side of the screen as shown below.
5. Now, manually update/add the applicable detail whichever is necessary i.e., Equipment Name, Short Name and AKA.
6. Once you complete the step 5, click on update button to save the changes.
7. On equipment detail page, scroll down the page you will see the data filter, which helps you to filter and differentiate the different equipment types to apply correctly.
8. To do the data filter, first select the field, logic and value then click on add rule button to save the changes.
- Where it says AKA-this is very useful if you want the ability to charge per equipment type on consignments. Required AKA names are EquipmentType1Count, EquipmentType2Count and so on for each of the different equipment types.
- In the data Filter you may want to tailor this to ask drivers for equipment counts; so, in the above when the freight item is a skid, the driver will be asked how many skids there are.
To Delete an Equipment Type
1. If you want to delete the Equipment item, simply click on the delete icon, a confirm dialog will pop-up, click on Yes button, the equipment item will be deleted from database as shown below.
