Pickup & Deliver

Overview

The Pickup & Deliver page is used to perform deliveries and pickups on the mobile application, after consignments have been loaded onto the device. For details on loading consignments, see Load consignments onto a device.
  1. Tap the Pickup & Deliver icon. The Pickup & Deliver page opens and displays the list of pickups and deliveries.
  2. Deliveries are identified by the  icon, and pickups by the  icon.
  3. Tap the delivery/pickup info or drop-down icon () to view additional information.
  4. Tap the  or  icons to open the consignment. The deliveries screen appears.
  5. The pickups screen appears.

Consignment Summary

To view the consignment summary for a pickup or delivery, tap the three dots icon. The consignment summary displays.

To Perform a Delivery or Pickup

  1. Tap the delivery icon () or pickup icon () beside the consignment. The consignment details screen appears.
  2. On the Deliver/Pickup screen, the tabs Info, Photo, Maps and Scan are available. The consignment info displays by default. Check the consignment info, and when everything is correct, tap Sign.
Note: On the Delivery/Pickup screen you can add a photo, check maps, and scan the included items. Add a photo as described in the Deliver/Pickup Issue section.
Note: Complete a pickup using the same steps described for performing a delivery.

Sign and Deliver

  1. After completing the steps above, tap Sign. The signature screen appears.
  2. The Extra Charges screen displays by default. Tap the Sign tab at the top of the signature screen to complete the delivery process.
  3. On the signature screen, enter the receiver name in the Receiver field, sign in the white field, then tap Complete to finish the delivery process.
Note: To remove the signature and try again, tap Clear.
Note: To update the arrival time on the signature screen, tap the clock icon and update the time.

Deliver/Pickup Issue

  1. For any issue related to a pickup or delivery, on the pickup/deliver consignment summary tab, tap Delivery Issue (or Pickup Issue).
  2. On the delivery/pickup issue screen there are three tabs (Info, Photo and Extra Charges). The Info tab opens by default and shows the delivery type/pickup type, comment (if any), and consignment number.
  3. To add a comment, enter it in the comment section.
  4. To update the delivery type, tap the drop-down button and tap the applicable delivery issue.
  5. To add a photo or additional charges for this delivery issue, tap the applicable tab (Photo or Extra Charges). The selected tab opens.
  1. To add a photo, on the Photo tab tap Take Photo and capture the photo. To add an extra charge, on the Extra Charges tab tap the Plus icon and add the applicable charges.
  2. After completing the steps above, return to the Info tab and tap Complete Delivery.
  1. You are redirected to the Signature screen. Enter the Receiver Name in the receiver field, sign in the white box, then tap Complete to complete the delivery.
Note: Complete a pickup issue using the same steps described in this section.

Extra Charges

  1. On the signature or delivery issue pages, you can add extra charges for any delivery. Tap the Extra Charges tab. The Extra Charges screen appears.
  2. To add an extra charge, tap the Plus icon for Hand Unload or Wait Time. A popup for Hand Unload/Wait Time displays. Enter the Quantity, add a Note, then tap Save to add the charges.

Photo

  1. On the Signature or Delivery Issue screen, and for extra charges, you can take a picture of the consignment. On the Photo tab, tap Take Photo and capture the image.
  2. If the photo is acceptable, save it by tapping the Save icon (), or tap the Delete icon () to delete it and try again.
  3. After taking a photo, classify the image as General (the default) or tap the drop-down icon and change the image type.
Note: If it is too dark when taking a photo, tap the Flash icon to turn on the flash, then take the photo.
Image type descriptions
Image TypeDescription

Map

  1. To see the location details for the delivery address, tap Map. The map screen appears.
Note: Tap Directions to load the address into your chosen navigation app on the device.

Equipment Control - Pickup/Delivery

You can record the equipment count (given and received) from the receiver location when performing a delivery or pickup.
  1. To edit or add an equipment count when performing pickups or deliveries, on the consignment detail page tap Tap to Edit Equip Counts.
  1. The equipment transactions screen appears.
  1. Enter the equipment count in the Give and Take fields on the equipment transactions screen, then tap OK to update.
Note: The give and take fields mean the number of equipment items to be given to the recipient and any items received back or exchanged.
  1. To add a note for any equipment count, tap the three dots icon. A new screen displays where you can enter the equipment references and add notes in the related section. Once details are filled, tap OK.
    1. When taking any equipment during a delivery or pickup and adding notes or references for that equipment, tap the three dots icon. A new section called Transfer Docket appears in the equipment comment screen. Enter the docket number.
Alert: Transfer Docket is a mandatory field when you take any equipment and add a reference or note for it.
Note: To make the equipment comment setting automatic, enable the Equipment Force Notes/References toggle. This equipment notes/references screen displays after completing step 3. To reach the Equipment Force Notes/Transaction toggle, go to Configuration > General > Global Setup, and on the General tab go to the Modules section.
  1. After step 3 and/or step 4, the number of items given, taken and the balance for this receiving location displays in the Equipment field.
  1. The equipment summary (how many received, how many taken, and the balance left) also displays on the signature page for visibility to the receiver.
Alert: Tap to Edit Equip Counts is visible when the Allow Equipment Control Module toggle is set to Yes. To reach the Equipment Control Module toggle, go to Configuration > General > Global Setup, and on the General tab go to the Modules section.

Advanced Equipment Control

Advanced Equipment Control enhances equipment monitoring. It includes equipment checks on freight arriving at the depot and equipment checks during driver pickups and deliveries. This feature lets you specify equipment transfers or exchanges when signing off or completing a delivery/pickup via the mobile app, improving visibility and tracking of equipment movements.
  1. To use Advanced Equipment Control, enable the Advanced Mobile Equipment toggle. To reach the Advanced Mobile Equipment toggle, go to Configuration > General > Global Setup, scroll down and go to the Modules section.

Advanced Equipment Control - Delivery

  1. Ensure that an equipment check has been performed during scanning and when loaded - this automatically populates the relevant equipment count against the consignment. Go to the delivery page and select the consignment when arriving at the delivery location.
  1. On the Pickup & Deliver screen, scan the consignment, go to the signature screen, then tap the Sign tab. You are redirected to the Equipment Exchange Status screen (Screen 01).
  2. On Screen 01, three options are available: Exchanged, Not Exchanged and Transferred. Select the applicable option, then the signature screen (Screen 02) appears.
OptionDescription
ExchangedYou give the receiver this equipment piece and they give you back another equipment piece of the same type (a straight swap).
Not ExchangedYou give the receiver the freight on the equipment but do not take back the equivalent equipment piece.
TransferredYou give the receiver the equipment piece and the ownership/rental on this equipment piece is transferred to their account with the relevant provider.
Note: In this example, Exchanged is selected for all the relevant items.
Note: If there are multiple items in the connote, select the equipment count multiple times. For example, with 3 items in a connote, tap the equipment count 3 times.
  1. On Screen 02, the summary of what is being exchanged, not exchanged and transferred displays.
  2. Tap Save to save the changes, or tap Retry to correct an error.
  3. The signature screen displays. Complete the receiver signature to complete the delivery.
  4. Once the consignment is delivered, to check the equipment transactions, on the web app go to the consignment detail, click the History tab, and go to the Equipment Transaction section.

Advanced Equipment Control - Pickup

This setting also allows pickups to be assigned to drivers, who confirm the equipment types and counts present for the assigned pickup.
  1. On the pickup screen, complete the basic flow, go to the signature page, then tap the Sign tab. You are redirected to the Equipment Questions screen. Enter the equipment count.
  1. The equipment questions ask the driver to input how many of each equipment type is being picked up.
Note: In this example there is only 1 item, with three equipment types present - one each of CHEP, PALLET and SKID. After you enter the equipment count, the summary of the equipment count displays on the signature screen.
  1. For any equipment types that are not present, the driver inputs a 0. Enter the details until all equipment types have been entered with the correct count.
  2. The driver is taken to the signature page to obtain a pickup signature and proof of pickup, which completes the pickup. This process marks the equipment counts against the relevant consignment.

Grouping Consignments

Grouping consignments lets you deliver multiple consignments with a single signature.
  1. When delivering multiple consignments to the same location, group these consignments together. To group consignments, tap the Menu icon at the top right of the screen, then tap Multi Select.
  2. If multiple consignments have not linked automatically, tap Multi Select. A group address screen displays with a checkbox against each consignment. Tap the applicable checkbox, then tap Group and Deliver.
  3. You can now deliver these consignments as one delivery.

Return To Depot

  1. On the delivery page, you can remove consignments from your delivery page depending on your business processes.
  2. On the delivery page, tap the Menu icon at the top of the page, then tap Return To Depot. The return to depot screen displays with a checkbox against each consignment.
  1. Tap the checkbox of the applicable consignments you want to remove, then tap Return to Depot. A confirmation popup displays.
  1. Tap Yes to return the consignment to the depot from the delivery page.
Alert: If you cannot perform Return to Depot, first enable Allow Quick Return Depot in Global Setup. To reach the Allow Quick Return setting, on the web go to Configuration > General > Global Setup, scroll down and go to the Delivery section.

List Order (Sorting Deliveries)

  1. You can change the delivery/display order of your consignments, a process known as sorting.
  2. To sort, tap the Menu icon, then tap List Order. The sort delivery page appears.
  1. Tap and hold the sort icon () beside the consignment you want to move, and drag it up or down the list.
  2. You can also reverse the order of the consignments.
  3. When finished, tap Done to save changes.
On the delivery page, the menu icon gives access to the menu options for this page.

Adding Consignments

Depending on your TransVirtual settings, you can add further deliveries directly to the delivery page.
  1. Tap the Enter/Scan Barcode field and type the consignment or barcode number, or tap the camera icon () to activate the camera and scan the barcode.
  2. Once the barcode is entered or scanned, the consignment displays in the delivery list.
Alert: A consignment added via this page is not added to the Runsheet.

To Deliver a Taxi Truck Consignment

After you create the taxi truck consignment in the web portal, assign it to a driver via the consignment history tab or the pickup allocation screen. Taxi truck consignments created as pickups display on the pickup allocation screen.
Tip: For details on assigning a pickup to a driver using the pickup allocation screen, see Allocation Controller.
  1. After assigning the consignment to a driver, on the mobile home screen an alert appears in the status section indicating the pickup is waiting, or a pop-up appears when the driver taps the Pickup & Deliver icon (Screen 02).
  1. Tap OK to acknowledge the pickup (Screen 02). You are redirected to the Pickup & Deliver screen (Screen 03). Tap the pickup icon, and the pickup screen displays (Screen 04).
  2. On the pickup screen, tap I've Arrived, then tap Sign (Screen 05). The signature screen displays (Screen 06).
  3. On the signature screen (Screen 06), tap the Sign tab, enter the receiver's name, and sign in the box. Once the signature is complete, tap Complete. A confirmation screen appears; tap Done. The pickup is completed and the consignment is ready for delivery.
  4. To complete the delivery, on the Pickup & Deliver screen the consignment automatically appears (Screen 01).
Note: Once the pickup is completed, wait 10 to 15 seconds for the consignment to automatically appear in the Pickup & Deliver section. If the consignment does not appear, sync the application and return to the Pickup & Deliver screen.
  1. The legs appear as separate consignments (the number is the original taxi connote with an underscore and the index of the leg number) on the delivery page (Screen 01).
  1. Tap the expand icon or the delivery icon (Screen 01/02). You are redirected to the deliver screen (Screen 03). Tap I've Arrived, then tap Sign (Screens 03 and 04).
  2. After tapping Sign, you are redirected to the signature screen. Tap the Sign tab, enter the receiver's name, and sign in the box (Screen 05). Tap Complete. A confirmation screen appears; tap Done to finish the delivery process.
Note: Repeat this process until all legs have been delivered.
