Warehouse - Stock UOMs
In warehouse management, Stock UOM (Unit of Measure) refers to the standard measurement or unit used to quantify and track inventory items. The UOM defines how products or materials are counted, stored, handled, and transported within the warehouse. The stock UOM is critical for inventory management because it ensures consistent tracking, ordering, and reporting of goods.
This article helps how to add/update and delete a warehouse stock Unit of Measurement(s) (UOMs) types.
1. To see the Stock Items UOMs types, go to Warehouse > Configuration Setup > Warehouse Stock UOMs, the stock items UOMs type page will come as shown below.
2. On Stock Item UOM types page, you can see the list of stock item where you can see the below details:
A) UOM Name
B) UOM Category
C) Default UOM
3. On Stock Item UOM Types page, you can update/delete the existing stock item UOM and can create/add a new stock type.
To Add/Create a New Stock UOM
1. To create/add a new stock UOM, on Warehouse Stock Type page, click on the Create Stock UOM Type, a popup for Create a New Stock Item UOM Type will display as shown below.
2. Now, manually enter the UOM Name and UOM category with the help of Drop and Down button and then click on the Create as shown above, the new stock item UOM type will be added to the stock item UOM type page.
a. UOM Name and UOM category are the mandatory fields, make sure you can fill both the fields otherwise you cannot create new stock type.
b. Use toggle button to make new stock type default.
3. By default, the newly added stock item UOM type will be enable.
To Update/Delete a Stock Item UOM
1. To update any existing stock item UOM, first select the applicable UOM which you want to update by clicking on it and then on the right side of the screen, detail of selected UOM will display as shown below.
2. On Details section, you can update the following field:
a. Unit of Measurement (UOM) Name Type: In this field you can update the UOM type name.
b. UOM Category: In this field you can update the UOM category.
c. Default UOM: Click on the toggle in Yes position, if you wish to make the selected UOM type as default.
d. Enable: If you wish to enable the rule click on toggle in Yes position or else in No position.
3. Once you update the field(s) describe in step 2, click on Update to save the changes.
4. To delete any UOM type, click on the delete button (
), a confirmation pop up will come, click on Yes, the applicable UOM type will be deleted.
To delete any UOM from database make sure that you remove UOM mapping first otherwise you will get an error message.
