Warehouse - Stock Types
The stock items refer to the classification or categorization of inventory items based on certain characteristics. It helps in organizing, managing, and tracking goods within the warehouse for more efficient storage, handling, and retrieval. These categories can vary depending on the nature of the goods and the needs of the business. This article helps how to add/edit and delete a warehouse stock type.
1. To see the Warehouse Stock Types page, go to Warehouse > Configuration Setup > Warehouse Stock types, the warehouse stock types page will come as shown below.
2. On Warehouse Stock type page, you can see the stock type list and on the right side you can see the stock type detail as shown above.
3. On Warehouse Stock type page, you can update the existing stock type and can create/add a new stock type.
To Add/Create a New Stock Type
1. To create/add a new stock type, on Warehouse Stock Type page, click on the Create Stock Type, a popup for Create a New Warehouse stock type will display as shown below.
2. Now, manually enter the Stock Type and Stock type Code and then click on the Create as shown above, the new stock type will be added.
Stock type and Stock type code are mandatory field. So, make sure you can fill both the fields or else you cannot create new stock type.
Use toggle in Yes position to make new stock type as a default.
3. Any new rule which is created/added by default it will be Enabled.
To Update a Stock
1. To update any existing stock, first select the applicable stock which you want to update by clicking on it and then on the right side of the screen, detail of selected stock will display as shown below.
2. On details and configuration tab, you can update the following field:
a. Stock Type: In this field you can update the stock type name.
b. Stock Type Code: In this field you can update the stock type code.
c. Is default: If you wish to default the selected stock type, enable the toggle in Yes position.
d. Active: If you wish to enable the rule then to click on Active toggle in Yes position or else in No position.
If you disable any stock types then that stock type will be removed from the stock type list but if you want to see that rule, click on Show Deleted checkbox, the disabled stock type will be displayed in Stock Type list in Orange Color.
3. Once you update the field describe in step 2, click on Update to save the changes.
