Warehouse bin types refer to the different categories or classifications of storage locations within a warehouse this could be a pallet, floor space, BIC etc. These types are used to optimize space, improve organization, and make the retrieval and storage of inventory more efficient. Warehouse bin types can be defined by a variety of factors, including size, accessibility, function, or the type of inventory being stored.
To see the warehouse bin types page, on WMS web app, go to Warehouse > Configuration and Setup > Warehouse - Bin Types.
Create Bin Type
1. To add/create a bin, on warehouse bin types page, click on Create Bin Type, a pop-up to create a new warehouse bin type will display, as shown below.
2. Manually enter the bin type and then click on Create to add bin. Once bin is added it will display on the warehouse bin types list as shown below.
3. Double click on the newly bin type, the detail of bin will display on the right side of the page as shown below.
To add/edit the Bin Type
1. If you wish to add/edit the bin type, on bin detail section, fill the details as describe below:
a. Bin Title: This field helps to update the bin title.
b. Max. Weight: This field allows you to manually enter the bin maximum capacity of load.
c. Max. Volume: This field allows you to manually enter the bin maximum volume of load.
d. BMax Qty: This field allows you to manually enter the bin maximum quantity of load.
e. Bin Type Length: This field allows you to manually enter the bin length.
f. Bin Type Width: This field allows you to manually enter the bin width.
g. Bin Type Height: This field allows you to manually enter the bin height.
i. Active: Use the toggle button to enable or disable the rule.
2. Once changes have been made, click on Update button to save the changes.
3. If you wish to filter the bin type page, on bin type list use inline filters and manually enter the bin title, Bin max. Weight, Length etc. in the respective field.
