Add Run Sheet popup showing date, driver, vehicle, and location fields.

Step-by-step

  1. Click Add New

  2. Complete the following fields:

Runsheet Number

  • Optional

  • Leave blank if auto-generated

A run sheet defines the structure of the run only. No deliveries are included until consignments are added.

💡 Tip

Create all required run sheets before assigning consignments for faster planning.

⚠️ Warning

If the wrong driver or date is selected, the run may not appear correctly in live tracking or the Driver App.

Route Optimisation – Run Sheets: Add & Manage Break Time

Summary / Purpose

This article explains how to add and remove break times on a Run Sheet. Break times allow you to account for driver rest periods (such as lunch breaks), ensuring more accurate ETAs, run duration, and route planning.

Where Break Time Is Managed

Break time is managed within an individual Run Sheet.

Navigation path:
Transport → Route Planner → Run Sheets → Open a Run Sheet

Add Break Time to a Run Sheet

Run Sheet toolbar showing the Add menu with the Add Break Time option.

Steps

  1. Open the required Run Sheet

  2. Click Add in the top-right corner

  3. Select Add Break Time

Break Time Popup Explained

Add Break Time popup showing break start time and break length.

Fields

Break Start Time

  • Enter the time the driver’s break begins

  • This should align with the planned run schedule

Break Length (min)

  • Enter the break duration in minutes

  • Common examples: 15, 30, or 45 minutes

  1. Click Confirm

The break is added to the run and factored into:

  • Estimated total duration

  • Estimated end time

  • ETA calculations for remaining stops

ℹ️ Info

Break times are treated as non-driving time and are included in overall run calculations.

💡 Tip

Add break times before reoptimising the run to ensure ETAs remain accurate.

⚠️ Warning

If a break overlaps with delivery windows, it may impact on-time performance for affected consignments.

How Break Time Affects the Run

Run Sheet showing updated estimated duration and end time after adding a break.

Once a break is added:

  • ETAs for subsequent stops are recalculated

  • Total run duration increases accordingly

  • Live tracking reflects the adjusted timing

Delete Break Time from a Run Sheet

Steps

  1. Open the Run Sheet

  2. Locate the break time entry

  3. Click the Delete (trash) icon

  4. Confirm deletion (if prompted)

The break is removed, and the run timings update automatically.

ℹ️ Info

Deleting a break immediately recalculates ETAs and total duration.

💡 Tip

If a driver skips a planned break, remove it to keep customer ETAs accurate.

⚠️ Warning

Do not remove mandatory breaks required for compliance with local fatigue or safety regulations.
